"To be on every job site in the world." This is the mission statement shared by Justin Kathan, CEO of Joist, a past Innovate Manitoba Venture'Challenge winner and Pitch'Day competitor. Joist, founded by Kathan and other former Winnipeggers Brendon Sedo and Michael Gauthier, is a tool that allows contractors to create estimates, email or print invoices, manage projects, accept credit cards and eChecks, order materials and supplies and export information to accounting systems in real time using mobile or web enabled devices. In just 2 years, Joist has gone from acquiring five new contractors per day to daily signups in the hundreds.

Advolve Media one of 10 Canadian startups selected into Communitech Rev

Advolve Media beat out some 500 other startups who applied for the exclusive opportunity to receive sales and growth mentorship and six months in Communitech, one of the top accelerators in North America. Advolve was the only company outside of the Greater Toronto Area that was accepted. “With this win, Advolve continues to raise awareness of Winnipeg's startup prowess on the national stage,” said Jan Lederman, president of Innovate Manitoba. “This just the right opportunity at the right time for Advolve - we are excited to see where it will take them.”
