From the President's Desk:
Brad Feld and Sean Wise on March 23

Every once in a while an opportunity comes along that you just can't pass up. Getting legendary startup guru Brad Feld to come to Winnipeg is definitely one of those opportunities. I guarantee that the evening of March 23, 2015 will be momentous occasion for our burgeoning startup community and an enlightening look into the mind of one of the world's most renowned tech entrepreneurs and venture capitalists.

A critical deadline: For the four Manitoba startups (including two student startups) that will deliver presentations to, and enjoy a VIP dinner with Feld and his co-presenter Sean Wise, the evening of March 23 is sure to be a game changer. However, only those who submit their online application by Sunday, March 15 will have any chance of presenting. With that, startups, this is your final reminder, and to everyone else, please be sure to pass this note on to the innovative entrepreneurs in your network.

Finally, we have a limited number of Feld and Wise's new book to give away on a first-register, first-serve basis; so register soon to secure your copy.

I can't wait for this event and hope to see many of you there.

Jan Lederman
President, Innovate Manitoba Inc.

Guided Customer Validation for Early Stage Ventures

Why do startups fail? A vast majority of the time it's because they've built a product or technology that no one is willing to pay for. Fail fast by testing whether your proposed product or service will work in the market before you fully develop it. Use your interviews with potential customers to design the features that customers really want.
