Community residents urgently need help
You may have heard about the closure at the Manwin Hotel. Public health officials shut down the residence citing a lack of heat and water. The residents of the hotel represent some of our city’s most vulnerable population.
Some of the residents have been relocated to the New Lodge Hotel and are now without access to a kitchen. Our partners at the DCSP (Downtown Community Safety Partnership) reached out to let us know residents are struggling to find meals and are looking for donations of the following items:
- Ready-made meals
- Food items that require little-to-no cooking (microwavable)
- Utensils, plates, bowls
- unused/day-old food items
If you are in a position to help, or know someone who is, donations can be dropped off at the New Lodge Hotel, 690 Notre Dame. Contact us at info@downtownwinnipegbiz.com if you have any questions.
