Downtown Winnipeg BIZ: Memo - The latest information for BIZ Members

Dear Downtown Winnipeg BIZ member,

The COVID-19 pandemic is creating an incredibly challenging time for our downtown business community. The business owners I've spoken with in the past week are under tremendous strain. We understand that cash, clarity and business continuity are top of mind.

During the webinar I'll be joined by an expert panel including:

  • Jason Shaw, Assistant Chief of Emergency Management and Public Information with the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service. Jason is a disaster recovery professional who advises businesses on how to optimize operations and regain their footing after an emergency or interruption to regular business.

  • Josée Lemoine, Chief Operating Officer and Strategy Leader at Blackswath Management. Josée is an experienced business continuity strategist who has helped advise and guide numerous businesses on developing and implementing strategic plans. She is also President of the Institute of Certified Management Consultants of Manitoba.

  • Sachit Mehra, Co-Owner and Manager of East India Company Pub and Eatery. Sachit has been part of his family's company for 25 years and has always had a passion both for business and Winnipeg. Sachit serves on multiple boards and committees, including serving six years on the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ Board of Directors, including two years as Board Chair.

The webinar will be focused on providing advice for business continuity planning and preparation, so downtown businesses can recover as quickly as possible when we get to the other side of the pandemic. We'll discuss strategies and best practices about the pressing issues that are on your mind.

As this is a live event, we'll also take your questions in real time, and our panellists will do their best to offer insight on the issues that are concerning you most. Following the webinar, a video of it will be posted online at downtownwinnipegbiz.com.

We'll continue to do all we can to support you, and I hope you can join us on Monday.
