There has been a lot of change over the past two years as we work toward a safer and more inclusive downtown. The Downtown Community Safety Partnership now has 24/7 presence on our streets and earlier this month, the City of Winnipeg opened a new permanent public washroom. With our partners, we’re moving the needle on issues that matter to you. But we know for a lot of the concerns, there’s no easy solution.
As the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ develops its new three-year strategic plan, we are holding a series of in-person discussions to get your input on how we can address some of the tough challenges we face as a community and create lasting change to help our downtown recover.
Our first discussion will be about safety downtown, both the perceptions and the realities. Have your voice heard and help us gain insight into your needs around safety now and into the future. The discussion will be solution-focused and help guide long-term strategies. As we move forward, we will continue to work together with members and stakeholders to address the safety challenges, and keep you informed along the way.
Our downtown is on Treaty No. 1 territory and the traditional homeland of the Métis Nation.
