2016 was an exciting year for sport in Manitoba! Steinbach hosted the Power Smart Manitoba Summer Games, Team Manitoba celebrated one year out from the 2017 Canada Summer Games, and 10 athletes from Manitoba represented Canada at the Olympics and Paralympics in Rio. The Canada Games will be celebrating their 50th year of Games at the 2017 Canada Summer Games in Winnipeg this summer. To mark this milestone, the Canada Games Council has created the Activity Challenge to get kids moving with the help of teachers, coaches, and parents. Inspire the kids in your life to be more active by taking the Canada Games Activity Challenge!

Power Smart Games Hosting Awareness Sessions

Canada Games Hosting

Sport Manitoba and the Manitoba Games Council want to meet with rural partners to discuss the benefits and direction of the Power Smart Manitoba Games. The objective of these sessions are to create interest within Manitoba’s rural communities to bid for the Games through identifying lasting economic, community, and sport legacies. The sessions will take place in January and February 2017.

Molly Ingenmey

A participant at the 2012 Power Smart Manitoba Games in Swan Valley, Molly Ingenmey will be representing Team Manitoba in sailing at the 2017 Canada Summer Games. Molly has been sailing for more than 10 years and plans to use her experience in the sport to bring home a medal this summer. Find out more about her pathway to the 2017 Canada Summer Games!
