Downtown Winnipeg BIZ: Memo - The latest information for BIZ Members

Downtown safety investment
DCSP

The Government of Manitoba has recently announced an investment of over $10 million in downtown Winnipeg safety measures, aimed at enhancing public safety.

At Downtown Winnipeg BIZ, we believe that investments made in our downtown are critical to its growth and vibrancy. A visible presence plays a vital role in achieving this goal, and we have already witnessed the positive impact of the Downtown Community Safety Partnership (DCSP) with their on-street supports 24/7.

Having more people and activity downtown would also go a long way in making the neighbourhood safer, which is what we’re focused on at the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ.

Share your voice with City Council
City Hall

Did you know you can have your voice heard by our city’s decision-makers?

The public is welcome to attend City Hall meetings to share their thoughts directly with the Mayor of Winnipeg and City Councillors. Individuals are open to speak or comment on specific topics of their meeting agenda posted one week prior.

As a final stop before a motion moves to be voted on by City Council, the Executive Policy Committee meets to discuss and debate the proposed projects.

They value the input and feedback from Downtown BIZ members like you. Whether you have concerns about proposed downtown projects or suggestions for improving community services – their meetings are your platform to make a difference.
